$1.8M In Hurricane Aid For St. Mary's Cleanup
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded $1.8 million for cleanup costs in St. Mary's County following Hurricane Irene.
Sens. Ben Cardin and Barbara Mikulski announced the grant on Tuesday. The county is one of a number across the state eligible for federal aid for damage between Aug. 24 and Sept. 5.
Mikulski and Cardin say the aid allows for the recovery of up to 75 percent of the cost of debris removal and disposal in St. Mary's County following Hurricane Irene.
