Young Suspect ID'd In School Arson

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - The Fort Worth Fire Department Arson Investigations Unit has identified a suspect responsible for the arson fire at Meadow Creek Elementary in the Crowley ISD.

The unit says it will be filing felony arson and burglary charges soon.

Investigators say they received numerous calls from citizens who recognized the suspect.

The suspect is a juvenile; therefore, the Fort Worth Fire Department will not release that person's identity.

On Monday, June 27 around 3:50 a.m. someone broke into the Meadow Creek Elementary School and set fire to books and other items in a classroom causing significant damage to the classroom and surrounding rooms.

The fire was contained by the buildings sprinkler system.
