Wrong-Way Driver Smashes Into Plano Motel
PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) - It started with police officers trying to pull over the driver of a truck pulling a cargo trailer and ended with a pile of twisted metal outside a motel entrance.
Things took a turn for the worse when the driver refused to stop and jumped the median near Parker Road and U.S. 75. The driver went the wrong way on the northbound service road before jumping a curb near the Red Roof Inn.
The truck slammed into a power, ripping the entire side of the trailer off, and then hit the portico in front of the motel -- tearing down the metal overhang.
No one was hurt on the roadway or at the motel. Police are still looking for the driver, who ran away after the crash. A K-9 officer was brought in to help with that search.
One lane of the service road along 75 was shutdown while police investigated.
