UPDATED: November 20, 2018  1:20 PM

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A tow truck driver was killed in the 7300 block of south I-35 while attempting to load a vehicle from the outside shoulder of the roadway onto his flatbed wrecker.

The victim, Charles McGough was working the controls outside the drivers side of the wrecker, when he was struck by a vehicle that left the scene. The suspect vehicle continued southbound without stopping to help McGough.

A witness described the suspect vehicle as a white semi-truck that was pulling a 'grain-type' trailer with a gray tarp. The truck will have damage to the front right-side, including the right headlight. It will also have fiberglass body damage.

It happened on the ramp, so traffic wasn't impacted apart from curious onlookers.

The Fort Worth Police Department Traffic Investigations Unit is currently investigating.

Anyone with information on this hit-and-run is asked to call 817.392.4892.
