PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) – A Collin County grand jury has indicted a Plano woman who was thin enough to almost escape from the back of a squad car through a slightly opened window.

Picked up on warrants in March, Sue Ann Smith, 48, was cuffed, seat-belted in a squad car and on her way to jail when she told the officer she was having trouble breathing. So he slightly opened the back seat windows. Next thing he knew -- the 5' 5", 115 pound Smith had the belt off and was hanging out the window.

By the time he stopped the car and got to the back, police said Smith had fallen to the ground. The officer put her back in the car and drove her to jail with the windows up.

Smith's attempted escape from the squad car has prompted a review of the department's procedures for cuffing and stuffing skinny people.
