ROYSE CITY (CBSDFW.COM) - Royse City police say a couple tried to kidnap a woman late Sunday night as she left Walmart.

Police say the couple approached her in the parking lot asking for money.  When she said she didn't have any cash, police say the suspects pulled a gun on her and forced into a gray SUV.

The woman managed to jump out and run as the kidnappers got away.  One left in the SUV, the other stole her car.

Police say the same thing happened a little later in a nearby neighborhood.

There are no other details on the suspects yet.

Meantime, Walmart released the following statement Monday night:

"There is nothing more important than the safety and security of our customers and associates any time they come to our store.

"We continually work to prevent crime in our stores and parking lots. This might include adding more security cameras or increasing parking lot lighting, and on certain occasions increasing third party security where appropriate, on a store-by-store basis."
