Woman Attacked & Robbed Near UTA Campus

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Police issued a crime alert on Wednesday after a robbery took place near the University of Texas at Arlington. The incident happened at around 4:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon in the 1200 block of South Cooper Street, near the southern edge of the campus.
According to school authorities, a female student was walking by herself near Latino's Tire Shop, on the west side of the roadway. A maroon vehicle with retractable headlights pulled up and a man approached her, with another man holding open the car's front passenger door and two additional males remaining inside of the vehicle.
The first suspect reportedly ran toward the victim, pushed her to the ground, grabbed her backpack and punched her in the face multiple times.
The victim fought back, and was able to strike her attacker in the face before running away to a campus residence.
All four of the suspects have been described as black males. The first suspect is described as being 5 feet 5 inches tall to 5 feet 8 inches tall, between 190 and 210 pounds, and in his late 20s. He has a black Afro hairstyle and was wearing black gym shorts and a red short sleeve shirt. The man who held the door open is described as being 5 feet 5 inches tall to 5 feet 7 inches tall, and between 180 and 200 pounds. He has a muscular build.
There were no further details available about the men who remained inside of the vehicle, including the car's driver.
