Woman Accused Of Setting Dallas Yoga Studio On Fire

DALLAS (CBSFW.COM) - A Dallas yoga studio was set on fire Saturday night. Dallas police have in custody the woman accused of setting the fire.

According to Dallas Fire and Resue, 41-year-old Nancy Duarte,  broke into the American Power Yoga studio on the 5400 block of East Mockingbird Lane just after 10:30 p.m. and set it on fire.

Authorities say at least 100 people had to be evacuated from neighboring business.

Firefighters were able to quickly put out the flames and there was minimal damage done.

Duarte was witnessed by a security officer going into the studio and called 911 to report the incident.

Once police arrived Duarte put up a struggle, and had to be subdued with pepper spray.

Once under control she was arrested and charged with second-degree arson and resisting arrest.

She is being held in the Dallas County Jail on a total of $16,000 bond.

Duarte told police she used a flammable liquid to set the yoga studio on fire. Investigators have not established a motive.
