Wiz Khalifa Skips Court For TV Appearance
EL PASO (CBSDFW.COM/AP) - A warrant has been issued for rapper Wiz Khalifa's arrest after he skipped out on a court date for a marijuana possession charge in West Texas. The hip-hop star was then later seen playing games on late night television.
Online court records show that the 26-year-old performer, whose real name is Cameron Thomaz, failed to appear for his scheduled arraignment on Wednesday in an El Paso County misdemeanor court. Judge Ricardo Herrera then issued a bench warrant for Khalifa's arrest.
The case started back on May 25 when Khalifa was arrested at El Paso International Airport, after airport security officers reported finding a small canister of marijuana on him. Khalifa had been departing after appearing at a local music festival.
Instead, the rapper was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and was released from custody after posting $300 bail. Court records do not list an attorney.
Hours after missing his scheduled court date, Khalifa appeared as a musical guest on "The Tonight Show" and played Pictionary with host Jimmy Fallon, actress Megan Fox and television personality Nick Cannon. He was partnered with Fallon, and looked strong in the opening rounds before losing the final clue. Check out their match in the two videos below.
