ROCKWALL, Texas (1080 KRLD) - Jury selection in the Kaufman County murder trial has resumed in Rockwall after the judge refused to move the trial a second time.
Lawyers for former Kaufman County Justice of the Peace Eric Williams say there are far too many prospective jurors who have heard biased media reports and have made up their minds. They want the trial moved again.
But Judge Mike Snipes noted they have already found 8 jurors who both sides say they can accept, and there's little evidence they won't get the rest of the panel.
What's more, Snipes said it was the defense that asked that the trial be moved from Kaufman to Rockwall in the first place.
Williams is standing trial for the murders of Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife Cynthia.
