Man arrested after stabbing one, running over two victims in Dallas multi-vehicle collision

DALLAS – Drivers on I-635 westbound in Dallas experienced a terrifying scene Tuesday morning as a series of violent incidents unfolded during rush hour.

At around 7 a.m., Dallas police reported that multiple vehicles were involved in a crash.

The chaos escalated when 26-year-old Angel Zamora Moreno engaged in a violent altercation with another driver.

The situation worsened as Moreno allegedly stabbed an individual who attempted to intervene, then took control of a Texas Department of Transportation truck, hitting a TxDOT employee.

Moreno continued his rampage by commandeering another vehicle and hitting that driver too.

All lanes of westbound I-635 were shut down while police investigated the crash involving multiple vehicles and the stabbing incident.

Dallas Fire-Rescue transported a total of three victims to local hospitals. Moreno was also taken to a local hospital as a precaution.

The driver who was stabbed is in critical condition and the other two victims are in stable condition, according to police.

As of 11:15 a.m., all lanes of westbound I-635 reopened.

Moreno faces multiple charges, including seven counts of aggravated assault, two counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and one count of criminal mischief. He is being held in the Dallas County Jail on a $901,500 bond.

There's also a hold on Moreno for another aggravated assault incident involving a deadly weapon.
