WATAUGA (CBSDFW.COM) – The violent attack of a Watauga man outside of a Fort Worth Walmart has turned deadly.

Marty Britton, 55, was beaten for a still unknown reason by several men in the front of the Walmart store located off of East Chase Parkway and I-30 in June. He suffered severe brain injuries from the attack.

On Thursday his wife, Rhonda Britton confirmed he died Wednesday afternoon from his injuries at their Watuaga home.

"His brain was just so fragile, and he had bleeding in the brain and spinal fluid in the brain it was just too much," said Britton.

Three months have passed since the attack and investigators have yet to make any arrests. Now Britton's widow is pleading for anyone who saw what happened to come forward and talk to police before the case goes cold.

"There's people out there that saw this, and hopefully they talk to somebody else about this," she said. "I promised Marty that I'd get them. I promised him. I made a promise that I'd get these people that did this to him."
