How Much Space Junk Is In Orbit?

It's amazing that NASA is able to launch anything into orbit, let alone the thought of sending a rocket to the Moon or Mars.

A professor at a university in London put together an animation to show how much debris is in orbit around our planet, and it's happened over almost 60 years.

He starts with the first satellite in 1957.

Now, there are 20,000 different things in orbit.  It's just astounding to see them all.
