DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - NFL defensive end Jared Allen will hang up his cleats after 12 seasons.

Allen made the announcement on his twitter account Thursday morning in a very cool way.

The five-time pro bowler posted a video of himself riding off into the sunset (kind of).

Allen made a name for himself in Minnesota and Kansas City after the Chiefs selected him in the 4th round out of Idaho State.

Over the course of his NFL career, Allen was known for his ability to get to the quarterback. He is tied for ninth all-time on the NFL sack leader's list with 136.

Allen finished his NFL career with his first ever trip to the Super Bowl with the Carolina Panthers this past season.
