DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Forward Chandler Parsons underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Friday morning to repair a torn meniscus, the Mavs announced.

The surgery, which could require more than a month of rehab, means Parsons is out for the season.

Parsons was hurt a week ago against Golden State — the same team Dallas plays at tonight, along with an announcement that Dirk Nowitzki and Deron Williams will sit out the game.

"A big-picture decision,'' coach Rick Carlisle calls it.

Parsons ends the season — much of which was spent ramping up from last spring's much more serious knee surgery - averaging 13.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.
