DENTON(CBSDFW.COM) - University of North Texas women's basketball player Eboniey Jeter was found dead in her dorm room Tuesday afternoon.

The cause of the 21-year-old's death has not yet been determined but Denton police do not suspect foul play.

UNT released a statement saying, "We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by the passing of Eboniey Jeter. She was a great young lady and a tremendous competitor, but most of all she was a trusted teammate on the women's basketball team and a respected member of the Mean Green family."

Students gathered underneath the university's tower which glowed green in honor of Jeter Tuesday night.

Jeter was the leading scorer on the women's basketball team last season and pursuing a degree in psychology.
