DENTON (AP) - The Dallas Cowboys and the University of North Texas have joined forces to promote education and provide work opportunities for students.

The agreement was announced Tuesday as the Cowboys hold training camp in Oxnard, California.

UNT's main campus in Denton, 40 miles northwest of Dallas, has about 37,000 students. The UNT New College, which opened in January as an off-site instructional facility, is near the under-construction new headquarters complex for the Cowboys, known as The Star in Frisco.

The educational part of the program will send Cowboys executives into UNT classrooms and provide student opportunities for working on projects and internships.

President Neal Smatresk says UNT officials are excited about having students interacting with one of the top sports franchises in the world.
