Unrelated Call Leads Arlington PD To Arrest Alleged Murder Suspect

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) — Arlington police have arrested a man who they say fatally stabbed 25-year-old Dustin McGee.
On Sunday police announced the arrest of 46-year-old Pervis Lee Andrews Jr. for allegedly fatally stabbing McGee near the Lincoln Square shopping center on Nov. 8. Andrews is in Arlington Jail for murder, police say. His initial bond is $500,000.
Police say the arrest is the result of officers responding an unrelated call.
The Arlington Police Department Narcotics Unit was investigating a call on Saturday when they recognized a car that looked like the one the suspect of the Nov. 8 stabbing was reportedly driving, according to the arrest warrant. That was not the same car, but interviews with the suspect of the narcotics investigation led to police identifying and arresting Andrews.
"This is the culmination of excellent police work where observant officers and detectives connected the dots and conducted a thorough investigation in order to remove this dangerous suspect from our streets," Police Chief Will Johnson said, according to the department.
