University Of Texas Suspends Spirit Group For 6 Years Over Hazing Claims

AUSTIN, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - The University of Texas has suspended a spirit group over alleged hazing.

The Texas Cowboys are a group of students who fire off a cannon at Longhorn football games.

The group has been suspended for six years.

The decision by higher ups comes after an investigation into hazing claims following the death of a student last September during a fall initiation retreat.

The University's decision can be appealed.
