Ugly Sweater Shop Revels In Holiday Limelight

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - As we enjoy the holidays, it's time to look to the necessities of the season. Shopping, sending out those greeting cards, and picking out the perfect ugly Christmas sweater - which is easier than you might think.
The Ugly Christmas Sweater Shop in Dallas does cater to a niche clientele. Lucy Turner's son got it started, during the holiday season a few years ago.
"You know, he saw a need and he filled it."
And he hand-picked specialists to staff the shop, specialists like Nicholas Leitzinger, who understands that matching the client with the right sweater is more fashion art than apparel science... even when someone asks for the ugliest sweater in the place.
"The sweaters are subjective as to what's ugliest. I can point them to some which are uglier than others, but it's kind of in the eyes of the beholder."
Litzinger helped direct me to a sweater with cats on it.
"You are appropriately ugly. You're ready to party."
Judging from the overwhelmingly positive responses from newsroom co-workers, Sweater Consultant Leitzinger knows his business.
