TxDOT Plans Permanent Pot Hole Repairs On I-35E

DALLAS (KRLD) -- A pot hole-riddled stretch of I-35 in Dallas is going to be getting a major facelift.

The Dallas district of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has secured funding to make permanent repairs to I-35 E from Northwest Highway in Dallas to Valley View Lane in Farmers Branch.

This is different than just patching things up. Starting in about two months, crews will be completely scraping down the surface of the road and re-paving the entire thing both on the main lanes and the service road.

TxDOT's Michelle Releford says this is different than the I-35 Express and LBJ Express projects ongoing in the area.

"It might get confused as part of that project, but it's not. It should be fairly quickly moving. It's going to be about a six month long project," Releford said.

Most work will happen at night five days a week into the winter.
