Two Dead After Overnight Wreck In Fort Worth

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Fort Worth PD is investigating a wreck on NE Loop 820 that left 2 men dead, overnight Saturday. Their names haven't been released.

Police spokesman Capt. Scott Conn says the pickup was entering Loop 820 from Main Street, left the roadway, hit a steel barricade then crossed the eastbound lanes of 820 and crashed into a concrete barrier then went off a highway bridge and fell onto the BNSF Railroad tracks below.

The pickup truck driver was killed. Another man was found dead in the westbound lanes of Loop 820.

Police aren't sure if the second man found was thrown from the pickup or just happened to be walking along the highway and was struck.

For several hours the both sides of Loop 820 were closed, but were later reopened.
