ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) — Two people are dead after a car crashed into a fence and a tree Friday night, according to Arlington Police Department.

Police say officers went to an apartment complex around 9:30 p.m. to find a felony warrant suspect when the suspect got into a car and sped away. The car lost control in the 2200 block of Randy Snow Road, crossed into oncoming lanes and hit a curb, a wooden fence and then a tree, according to the department.

A 40-year-old man, who was driving, was dead on the scene. A 32-year-old woman, who had an outstanding felony warrant for aggravated assault on a peace officer, later died from her injuries at a hospital, police say. Their identities have not yet been released.

Officers were not pursuing the car, the department said. Police had lost sight of the car when it sped off at the apartment complex and learned about the crash when a neighbor in the area heard the impact and reported it, according to the department.
