DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Road rage turned violent when two cyclists say a driver hit and beat them in Dallas.
The fight broke out on Cedar Springs and Turtle Creek.
The cyclists involved shared their story with CBS 11.
Now they hope any witnesses, who can confirm what happened, can help them get the suspect charged with a crime.
Elle Natchke has a broken nose, two black eyes and knots on her head.
"I remember being punched again in the jaw, again in the face," said Elle.
She said she got her injuries while trying to protect her friend George Wendt.
"I have epilepsy,so the only way I can get around is by biking," explained George.
The pair was riding down Cedar Springs Rd in Dallas with another cyclist Friday night.
"A car pulled up next to me and started yelling," explained George.
"He seemed very angered by the fact we were cycling," said Elle.
George Wendt said the driver cut him off, hit him in the side, knocked him over, then got out of the car.
"He came right up to me and started punching me in the face."
"I just kind of charged him. Tried to push him off," said Elle. "That's when he started punching me."
The cyclists said two people passed by stopped and restrained the driver until paramedics showed up.
Police arrived later, but by that time the witnesses were gone, and police were then hearing two different versions of the same story.
George said he was shocked that police decided to ticket the driver -- and him -- for misdemeanor assault.
"Apparently, my face must have hurt his fists."
"I never saw him do anything other than get into the fetal position," Elle.
The two are now using social media to search for their Good Samaritans in hopes of setting the record straight and get George's ticket dismissed. So far, they haven't been successful.
They'd also like to see more serious charge filed against the driver, and they're looking into filing a civil case against him as well.
CBS 11 tried to locate the driver to get his side of the story, but haven't been able to find him.
