WAXAHACHIE (CBSDFW.COM) -- Two 18-wheelers collided and caught fire on Interstate-35E in Waxahachie Friday morning, shutting down the northbound lanes of the freeway.

Both drivers escaped the crash without any serious injuries. One driver was treated at the scene, and the second went to the hospital as a precaution.

A city spokesperson says the crash occurred after one 18-wheeler jackknifed, colliding with a second.

The fire has been extinguished, but wrecking crews are on scene working to clear the vehicles and debris from the road.

Northbound traffic is being diverted onto U.S. Route 77 . Drivers can get back on northbound I-35 near FM 66 . The southbound lanes were closed but have now re-opened.

The crash happened underneath an overpass, which appears to have been damaged in the fire. Waxahachie Police say the roadway will likely be closed for "most of the day" Friday as the structural integrity of the bridge is assessed.
