TSA Deploys Additional Security At Major U.S. Airports

DALLAS (CBS11) - As a precautionary measure, TSA deployed additional security to major airports in the United States Tuesday.
DFW International Airport officials would not say whether security at the airport had been increased, but officers with rifles and search dogs were visible in the airport's international terminal.
However, many security precautions at the airport are not as visible.
All vehicles entering the airport have their license plates read and cross referenced with criminal and terror watch databases.
Aviation security consultant Chaim Koppel says security officers are trained to look for nervous passengers.
He also says what the attack in Brussels shows is that terrorists are finding it more difficult to get onto airplanes which is why crowded terminals are becoming alternative targets.
"You don't have to reach an airplane. It's too complicated," said Koppel, director of International Security Defense Systems. "You don't have to go through the body scanners and all those things - just go to a crowded area and explode yourself."
There are no direct flights from DFW to Brussels.
Fort Worth-based American Airlines announced all flights to and from Brussels for the next two days have been cancelled.
