ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - A quick-thinking bystander fearing an armed robbery was about to happen alerted police in time to stop it Saturday.

Arlington Police say a witness saw two people get out of a car with weapons in their hands outside a convenience store in the 5600 block of South Cooper Street.

When Police got there they saw three suspects, two men and one woman.

Officers found one suspect still in the car, while the other two were caught as they left the store.

Police say the trio had five BB guns on them.

The suspects were arrested and charged with attempted aggravated robbery after a witness positively identified them.

Police say the suspects have not been linked to any other crimes related to BB guns but detectives are still investigating.

Arlington Police say they have responded to more than a dozen cases since January in which a suspect was carrying a BB gun, including an officer having a fake gun pulled on him in April.
