Toy Drive Helps Those Affected By North Texas Tornados

ROWLETT (CBSDFW.COM) - A toy drive set up by Rowlett Strong helps children who were affected by the deadly tornado outbreak in December 2015.
Rowlett Strong president Steve Walker said the Tornado Christmas toy drive was created to help replace toys that were blown away by the tornados.
Saturday's toy drive was located at the Rowlett Bowl-A-Rama.
Walker said the drive collected toys for boy and girls from all affected areas including Glenn Heights, Garland, Rowlett and Copeville. He also said the drive welcomed those who were affected by the April hailstorm that devastated parts of Wylie and surrounding areas.
According to Walker, Saturday's toy drive was a success as it collected hundreds of toys and nearly $500 in cash. The cash will be used to purchase more toys.
Walker said the toy drive will be back at the Rowlett Bowl-A-Rama next Saturday, December 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
