DALLAS (CBS11) - A pint-sized Cowboys fan melted hearts when her reaction to Dez Bryant's foot injury went viral.

On Monday, 3-year-old Emery St. John woke up to news that her favorite--number 88—had suffered a broken bone in his foot.

"Dez," little Emery is heard saying softly in cellphone video recorded by her mother.

"What happened to Dez?," Gillian St John asks her daughter.

"He hurt his foot," Emery responds with disappointment.

"Is that why you're sad today?," asks her mom.

Emery nods her head in agreement.

Her parents have been documenting the child's precocious penchant for America's Team for months.

They start them young in the St John household. Emery can often be found wearing her pink cowboy boots and football jersey.

Gillian says a love for The Cowboys was basically a prerequisite for marriage.

"I don't think he would have ever dated me if I didn't love the Cowboys," she says, referring to her husband Tommy.

The St John's shared the video of Emery's heartbreak on CBSDFW"s Facebook page, where it has been viewed thousands of times.

Many viewers were impressed by the little girl's knowledge of team rivals.

"Can he play against DeMarco Murray?," Emery is heard asking in the video.

"He can't play against DeMarco Murray this time, but he'll play against him later on this year, when he feels better," her mother is heard explaining.

Emery can also list off the teams Dallas Cowboys fans don't like.

"I don't like the Eagles, and The Red Skins and The Giants," she said.

With the help of her family, Emery made her favorite player a get well soon card. The St John household is looking forward to his swift recovery.

"We're hoping 4 to 6 weeks [of recovery time] and we hope we don't re-injure it," Gillian says.

"He'll be back. He's fast," adds her husband Tommy.
