GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) - The DPS says three people inside a sedan were killed when the driver crashed into a disabled armored car.
It happened around 4:25 p.m. on the President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) near the ramp to eastbound I-20 in Grand Prairie.
DPS says an armored car was disabled sitting in the painted apex of the ramps to east and westbound I-20. A Honda Accord was traveling south on the PGBT and entered the lanes to continue east on I-20.
It's unclear why, but the Accord left the traveled portion of the right lane, entered the painted apex and struck the back of the armored car.
An infant inside the Accord was rushed by Grand Prairie Fire to Children's Medical Center of Dallas with serious injuries.
The driver of the armored car and the passenger were not seriously injured.
The roadway remains closed and the investigation is ongoing.
