MANSFIELD (CBSDFW.COM) - Mansfield ISD says three students were taken from Mansfield Summit High School to the hospital Tuesday morning under suspicion of being under the influence.

The students had apparently taken the substance Xanax on their way to school according to a school district news release.

When the students got to school, a staff member reported one of the student's suspicious behavior and the trio went to the hospital as a precaution.

The students are expected to be okay.

"The safety of our students will always remain our top priority," the statement reads. "MISD staff is continuously educated about the signs of drug and alcohol abuse, which is why the students were able to be identified and treated quickly."

Mansfield ISD Police are investigating.
