GARLAND (CBS11) - Three generations of a Garland family gone and their relatives are left asking why.
Police may never know what happened because this was a single car accident that killed everyone inside.
Crystal Davis's convertible went off the road, hit a landscape boulder and flipped over leaving a lot of people in pain.
Adolphus Brown was standing at his front door early Thursday morning when he learned that he lost wife, his stepdaughter and his granddaughter.
"They were on their way home and I got a knock at my front door the police officer came in and asked me a couple of things," says Brown.
It was around 2:00 a.m. Thursday when 52-year-old Tina Brown, her daughter 28-year-old Crystal Davis and her three-year-old daughter Aleah were killed while returning to Garland from a relative's home in Mesquite.
Police say Crystal lost control of her convertible Mustang on this curve and crashed through the iron gate of a storage facility.
"They were coming home I don't know exactly what happened anything like that," says Brown.
Still in shock, the family relies on their faith in God to carry on.
"It's one thing you can ever know or say why, why did it happen? We were raised not to question God's work," says Brown.
Police are still investigating what caused Crystal Davis to lose control and crash only days before what would have been her daughters 4th birthday.
"She was my heart she was my heart she couldn't go a day without me every time I walk through the door," says Brown.
Police say they do not believe alcohol played a role in the accident at this point.
