DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Three Dallas Baptist University students were killed in a car crash in Dallas on Mountain Creek Parkway and Grady Niblo Road around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

The university confirmed the victims' identities on its website.

They are: Will Smith of Bullard, Justin Schubert of Cleburne, and Djordje (DJ) Sarenac of Belgrade, Serbia.

Dallas police crash investigators say the Chevy Silvarado the trio was in was traveling southbound on Mountain Creek Parkway when it hit a curb, left the roadway and hit a large fiberglass cylinder that was to be installed near the lake.

Police say after striking the cylinder the vehicle became airborne and struck a wooden utility pole and landed on its top.

DBU says on its website, administrators are reaching out to the families of the victims "to provide love, support, and encouragement in the midst of this tragedy."

DBU says it will hold a memorial service Sunday evening at 9:00 p.m. in the Pilgrim Chapel.

Grief counselors are available for the campus community.
