Three Arlington Detention Officers Terminated In Inmate Death Case

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - The Arlington Police Department has completed the administrative investigation into the death of inmate Jonathan Paul in March 2015.

The police department says the investigation was reviewed by each involved employees' chain of command for disposition.

There were a total of 10 employees that were investigated.

Five of the 10 employees were exonerated during this process and one employee retired while under investigation.

These are the sustained findings on four employees as a result of the administrative investigation:

· Sergeant Frank Vacante – Charge: Supervision – Proposed Discipline: 5-Day Suspension
· Detention Officer Pedro Medina – Charge: Unbecoming Conduct & Judgment – Proposed Discipline: Termination
· Detention Officer Wes Allen – Charge: Emergency Medical Needs – Proposed Discipline: Termination
· Detention Officer Matt Fisher – Charge: Emergency Medical Needs – Proposed Discipline: Termination

The department says these findings are not final. Employees are provided due process which affords the right to respond to and appeal these determinations.
