COLLEYVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - They got spirit, yes they do!

The Colleyville Heritage High School Panther Cheerleaders have won fourth place in the nationwide American School Spirit Awards, selected by the Universal Cheerleaders Association, according to a news release from Grapevine-Colleyville ISD.

Award winners are chosen for their community service or charity work, spirit raising activities or traditions and notable academic awards or honors.

The UCA said, "Colleyville Heritage high School continues to demonstrate a balance of impressive academic standards and exceptional spirit raising ability for their community. The team set primary examples to their fellow students with their 5.43 (of 6.0) GPA and by creating their own philanthropy drive, the Heroes Care Package Drive, in which they're collecting various items to be sent overseas to U.S. military personnel."

UCA also commended the Panther Cheerleaders for their participation in Rachel's Challenge, the Color Run, Pink Out/Think Pink for breast cancer awareness, and encouraging young people in the community to get involved in cheerleading.
