The Dallas Cowboys have made it no secret that they believe just about anyone can run behind the league's best offensive line.

Due to their belief in this philosophy, the Cowboys let DeMarco Murray walk to the Philadelphia Eagles in the off-season.

The training camp competition between Darren McFadden and Joseph Randle never materialized into one because they were both injured for a majority of camp. So the reality is, the Cowboys are going into the season with an unproven Randle, an injury prone McFadden and Lance Dunbar picking up occasional third down duties.

Their have been recent rumblings that the Cowboys may still be looking for that feature back that they can trust. Former Cowboys scout, Bryan Broaddus suggested on the Ben and Skin show yesterday that the Cowboys would have to trade a 3rd round pick for a running back, because they are so low in the waiver wire order. Lets run down a list of a few candidates that the Cowboys could have an interest in.

3. Fred Jackson

I know what you're thinking... Jackon's too old. Already at age 34, Jackson has had injury concerns of his own over the years. However, it would be nice to see someone like Jackson run hard and provide a good role model for young Joseph Randle. Jackson is a former Arlington Lamar High School football star and could very much welcome a return home.

2. Montee Ball

Ball has plodded his way to 4th back duties with the Denver Broncos. The former Wisconsin star was a second round pick in the 2013 draft, but just can't seem to put it all together after opening the 2014 season as the Broncos starting running back. Peyton Manning reportedly lost faith in Ball being able to protect him in the back field. When the hall of famer loses faith in you, it's easy to see why he's on the chopping block. Reports started swirling around Friday afternoon that the Cowboys and Broncos were discussing a trade for Ball, but Cowboys insider Mike Fisher put those rumors of a trade to rest.

1. Knile Davis.

There is no indication from the Kansas City Chiefs that they'd be willing to part with Jamaal Charles' backup. Davis one of the best handcuff backs in the league, so it would surely cost the Cowboys a middle to high draft pick to acquire his services.
