GRAND PRAIRIE (1080 KRLD) - America's longest running game show comes to Grand Prairie tonight.
"The Price Is Right: Live" takes the stage at the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie at 8:00 p.m. tonight; doors open at 7:00 p.m.
The stage version of the show is hosted by Todd Newton.
"We're a live night out at the theater," says Newton. "It's a live production. Anything can happen. Anything does happen. Every audience is different, so no two shows are the same."
The show features the pricing games that generations of viewers have come to know and love over the last four decades.
"Fans of Plinko and fans of the big wheel and fans of Cliffhangers never ever leave our show disappointed," says Newton.
Contestants will also get to bid on the showcase at the end of the show.
And the best part -- you won't have to wait in line for hours on end just to be called to "come on down."
"You'll come in, you'll buy your ticket," says Newton. "You'll throw your name down on a registration slip. They're mixed up backstage and they're drawn by an impartial party who doesn't know Adam from Eve."
And unlike on the television show, a new group of people is called to contestants row for each new item up for bids.
"That way, we have the good fortune of bringing more people up to contestants row, giving more people the opportunity to win cash, and win prizes and win trips," says Newton.
