The Cedar Hill Pet Memorial Project

It all began when Theressa Brandon was looking for a place to bury her dog. She found the delapodated and abandoned pet cemetery. And the county was putting it up for auction to the highest bidder

Brandon, a former Marine, gathered supporters and donors and was successful in buying the nearly two acres of land where nearly 5,500 pets are thought to be buried.

She says all those pet owners expected their pets to be taken care of for years.

She formed a nonprofit organization, formed a board and mounted a renovation including a working dog statue and the awarding of a historical marker from the City of Cedar Hill.
