AUSTIN (AP) - More than 4,000 anglers and other fans of fishing have cast votes online and picked their favorite new bass image for an updated Texas license plate.

The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department says the plate shows a jumping largemouth bass chasing a lure. Wildlife artist Clemente Guzman created the colorful image.

Department spokesman Steve Lightfoot said Monday that the new license was chosen by online voters in February. It replaces a bass license plate that had been used for more than 10 years.

The fishing specialty license plate costs $30 annually, in addition to regular fees. The new largemouth bass license plate - available for cars, trucks, motorcycles, trailers or recreational vehicles - went on sale last week.
