Texas Rangers Release 2016 Schedule

Major League Baseball released the 2016 schedule for every team today.

The Texas Rangers schedule sees them matchup with the National League Central Division for interleague play. The Rangers will play 12 of their final 15 games at home, capped off by a three-game series with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Here are the highlights:

The Rangers open the 2016 season at home with a three-game series against the Seattle Mariners on April 4th.

Texas hosts the Pittsburgh Pirates for three games  on May 27th-29th, the Cincinnati Reds for two games on June 21st & 22nd, the NL West's Colorado Rockies on August 10th and 11th and the Milwaukee Brewers on September 26th-28th.

Texas will travel to St. Louis to face the Cardinals on June 17-19th, and they'll head to the friendly confines of Wrigley Field on June 15-17th.

The New York Yankees come to Arlington May 25th-27th, and the Boston Red Sox come into town June 24th-26th.

The Rangers will spend Independence Day in Boston this season.

The 87th All-Star Game will be played on July 12th in San Diego.
