Fans excited as Rangers start Game 7 off strong

ARLINGTON (CBSNewsTexas.com) — A crowd of several thousand people filled up more than half of the infield at Globe Life Field to watch Game 7 Monday night.

And it didn't take long for the crowd to have something to cheer about with the Rangers scoring early.

Fans dressed in costumes and danced the night away when it started looking good with a 4-1 lead.

Then it turned into an 8-2 lead, and suddenly the thought that the team could head to the World Series became a real possibility for the first time in over a decade.

"We're gonna win this year," said fan Deserea Abarcha.

Mayra Garcia said the last time they came out to the ball park was when the Rangers went to the World Series in 2011.

"It's so much fun, we're so glad we came," she said. "We've just been waiting for this time."

For Sharon Davis, she thinks the team will hold their current lead. "It's time to get [to] the World Series."

If the Rangers pull off the win against the Astros, they will take on either the Arizona Diamondbacks or the Philadelphia Philles, both of which are tied 3-3 in the National League Championship Series.
