Texas Football Announces Home-And-Home Series With Michigan

AUSTIN (CBSDFW.COM) -- The University of Texas has reached an agreement in principle with Michigan to play a home-and-home series in 2024 and 2027, the school announced on Wednesday.

The tentative deal would send the Longhorns to Ann Arbor on Aug. 31, 2024, with Michigan returning for the second leg on Sept. 4, 2027.

The deal will be presented to the UT System Board of Regents for consideration on Nov. 5.

The games would match two of the winningest programs in NCAA history. Michigan currently leads the way with 912 wins, while Texas is third with 876.

The two teams played in the 2005 Rose Bowl in their only meeting. The Vince Young-led longhorns prevailed 38-37 on Dusty Mangum's 37-yard field goal as time expired. Young accounted for five touchdowns and 372 yards.
