DALLAS (KRLD) - Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton appears to have put together a high-power, high-profile legal team to defend him against felony charges.  The names are well known in legal circles. Sources say Plano lawyer Heather Barbieri is joined by, Fort Worth attorney Mark Daniel and high-profile Houston attorney Mark Lanier on the team.

The team brings a big-time punch. "These guys I think can all work together," said Dallas attorney Toby Shook. "Their personalities are kind of team players.  They are all competent attorneys but I don't think they have huge egos that can't work together and I think they'll be a good team."

Last week former federal judge Joe Kendall suddenly resigned as Paxton's counsel, which seemed to catch the trial judge by surprise.  He gave the Attorney General until today to assemble a new team.  Paxton faces charges relating to stock sales.
