COLLEGE STATION (AP) - The next official canine mascot of Texas A&M University hails from Ohio.

Texas A&M on Tuesday announced that Reveille IX begins her duties May 9. The collie has the American Kennel Club registered name of Overland Turning Twix.

Reveille IX was born Nov. 22, 2013, in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. She's been donated to A&M by Overland Collies, owned by Marcy and Mike Fine.

She replaces Reveille VIII, who is retiring after completing her seventh and final year as Texas A&M mascot.
