Texas Amber Alert: Missing San Antonio Child Found Safe Near Waco

SAN ANTONIO (CBSDFW.COM) - A 2-year-old San Antonio girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert Friday morning was found safe near Waco, authorities confirmed.

Authorities said Aurora Lee Lopez had been taken earlier in the morning by her grandmother, 49-year-old Sherry Lee McGill. An Amber Alert was then issued.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, the woman's vehicle was spotted on I-35 in McClennan County just before 8:30 a.m. by Texas Department of Public Safety troopers.

The troopers were able to stop the vehicle, where they found the child safe inside. Authorities are working to reunite the child with her family.

Authorities have not yet said what charges, if any, McGill will face.
