DALLAS (AP)Indicted Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has released a defiant video vowing "I'm not going anywhere" as his lawyers go to court to fight felony securities fraud indictments against him.

The Republican's legal team is asking an appeals court in Dallas on Thursday to toss criminal charges Paxton defrauded investors. Paxton also faces separate civil fraud charges filed by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Paxton had said little publicly about the case. But in a 4-minute video posted by his campaign team before the Dallas court hearing, he said, "These charges are false, and I will prevail against them in court."

The video was titled "I'm standing and fighting!" That's a slogan similar to one used by Sen. Ted Cruz, who, like Paxton, is a Texas tea party favorite.
