Terrell Police Searching For Whataburger Robbers
TERRELL (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Terrell are looking for two men whom they say robbed a Whataburger on New Year's Day and another one the morning after.
According to Terrell Police, the unidentified men walked into the Whataburger restaurant on FM 148 just after 5:00 a.m. on Monday holding guns and told all the customers to get on the ground.
The same thing happened about 24 hours later at a Whataburger in Forney about five miles down the road on Highway 80.
One of the victims, Gabriella Reyes told CBS11, "When one male saw me, he pointed the gun right at my face, and led me to the office where my two coworkers were. They said to us, 'freeze, get on the ground, close your eyes.'"
Reyes was working her overnight shift when the gunmen, both wearing dark clothing and bandannas covering their faces, entered the Forney restaurant.
"We were told about the Terrell robbery, then it happens to us," she said.
Surveillance images from the restaurant show two masked men holding guns and corralling employees into a back office where the suspects forced an employee and manager to open the register and back office for them.
Terrell Police and Forney Police investigators both believe the robberies were committed by the same duo.
They left with an undetermined amount cash, possibly driving a light grey or smokey blue four-door Nissan Altima.
Both suspects wore hoodies, and covered their faces with bandannas.
Police say nobody was hurt during the robberies.
