NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A police chase starts in Wise County and ends in a violent crash in north Fort Worth.

Just after 11:00 Wednesday night a Texas Department of Public Safety highway patrol trooper attempted to stop the driver of a Honda Accord on U.S. Highway 287  in Rhome. But the driver, who officials say was speeding, refused to stop and tried to evade the trooper.

The driver fled south on 287 into Fort Worth and for some reason lost control of the car near Loop 820 and Western Center Boulevard and hit a tree.

After further investigation, officials learned the Honda had been reported stolen out of the Austin area. The driver, later identified as 18-year-old Mark Morales, was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

There were two underage passengers in the car, ages 16 and 17, who were also arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

All of those arrested remain in the Wise County Jail.

No one inside the car was injured in the crash.
