PARKER COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - A teenager who is accused of hitting and killing a woman while driving will be tried as an adult.

Morgan Lopatesky is 17 years old now, but was 16 at the time she allegedly hit 58-year-old Marla Carroll in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Hudson Oaks.

A grand jury returned an indictment for Accident Involving Personal Injury or Death against Lopatesky.  According to testimony presented during the grand jury hearing, Lopatesky drove away from the accident scene without stopping, but returned later with her mother.  Police determined the teen was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Lopatesky faces 2 to 20 years in prison if she is convicted on the hit and run charges.
