Teen Killed In Car Crash On I-35 In Denton

DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) -Denton Police says speed was a factor in a single car crash Thursday afternoon.
Witnesses told police a car speeding southbound on N I-35 drove into the median then down the embankment of an overpass. The car ended up under the overpass of N I-35 on Cowling Road.
The only person in the car, an 18-year-old man, was thrown from the vehicle, which rolled several times, and died.
Police say the safety cables that separate northbound and southbound lanes of traffic kept the car from crossing the highway and possibly colliding with other cars. The identity of the driver is being withheld at this time to allow for notification of the family.
The investigation is ongoing.
